PPI Claim - Dorothy Perkins Storecard

Apologies if this has been covered in another post but I have had a look through and I couldn't find it. I recently saw an article stating that if you had a storecard in the 1990s or 2000s you may be able to claim back PPI.
I had a Dorothy Perkins card in which I got in 1999/2000, I don't know if I had PPI, but I wouldn't be surprised. I thought it was too long ago so never looked into it but now I think it is worth looking into.
I went through one of those claims companies and they said that Santander had come back to say that they could not find my account. I'd like to check this myself but don't know where to start checking my account details and whether I had PPI. With it being so long ago I don't have any paperwork.
Thanks in advance for your help!

You send a SAR and £10 to Santander.
You're not guaranteed anything back though as they weren't regulated so ou may have to wait for a rejection form Santander, then pursue GE money. They also weren't regulated, but they may pay out.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
A claims company got nowhere, you don't even know if there was ppi attached to you're account, yet you want to complain about it?
If you're going to alleged that ppi was in some way mis-sold to you, you need to come up with valid reasons why you believe this.
Do note that there is nothing wrong with ppi, you would be making an allegation that someone misled you ( ie. lied to you) to get you to take the insurance.
As -taff says, your only hope would be a £10 DSAR.0 -
Sounds like a futile activity. If the Claims Company (with every incentive to be successful) was unable to find an account then what makes you think you will be able to yourself?
This forum encourages everyone to make their own complaint to avoid paying exorbitant fees to Claims Companies.
However, there really is no point trying to magic up records of an old account that may (or may not) have had PPI attached to it.
Do you really want to spend £10 to confirm what the Claim Company already found?0
