Investing a large sum

So, say you get 100k tax free..... where would you invest, of HOW would you invest?

Pay off part of mortgage, get a buy to let, shares, isa's etc etc?

What are your circumstances, what are your objectives etc?
Too little information for anyone to give a meaningful response

I'm no expert at all, but the first thing I'd do is stick it in a NS&I income bond while I worked out what to do with it

The ISA limit is £15k, £20k next year. What will you do with the other £85k?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • My question is what would YOU do, not what you think I should do..... just an open question really..

I fancy a new range rover. That is me sorted. Not sure how that information is of much use though to this section. This section is about about detail. Not general chat.

You're not taking a contrary position to hedge? I seem to recall you did well with this on EURef and GE15

Sorry to go off topic but I'm struggling with what the topic is
  • I mainly read rather than post on the forum.
I find post #6 confusing/amusing in the sense of the above posters ColdIron, AnotherJoe and jimjames (respectively) took their time to respond with questions/suggestions.
They are a small selection of many forum users who gladly offer their opinions to people (including myself) on this forum.
My question is 'Why would the above contributers spend time on what they would hypothetically do with x£s when they are already doing things with their money?' I don't geddit.
I just think if you'd like peoples opinion on where best to invest x£s then you should just say rather than going the long way about it.

    Just my opinion mind you......
