Help needed! Have a letter from Northampton County Court Business Centre

Hi everyone, first time poster in urgent need of advice and/or help!
I've received a 'claim form' from Northampton County Court Business Centre over unpaid parking fines I've had over the period of a year. In total there are 9 'fines' that UK Parking Control Ltd are trying to get me to pay for and I've ignored each one thinking that they would simply go away (as can happen).
However, I have no received a letter from SCS Law stating that they have issued a 'Particulars of Claim' to reclaim their costs of £980.00.
I would really appreciate some advice as to what to do here, as, after reading through the forums, they are quite confusing and complex.
I've also contacted Private Parking Appeals.
Any ideas?

The circumstances of how you got the parking charges may help.
Why did you park there ?
Do you have any pictures of the signs offering the contract.
Did you receive NTK by post ?I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
I parked on the car park at Coventry University as it was close to where I worked on campus.
I received several NTK's through the post but simply ignored them and discarded them as I have done previously with other parking fines I have refused to pay.
On several occasions, the pay meter was actually broken as well so it was impossible to even pay to park there. I don't have images of the 'contract' currently.0 -
As this is £1000, I would get some pictures of the contract signs ASAP.
You will have a CCJ in 28 days unless you get up to speed very quickly indeed.
You must now ONLY deal directly with the court.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
I can obtain them this week.
I really don't understand any of the processes in place, so what do you mean by only deal directly with the court?
I have contacted Private Parking Appeals to try and get their help too.0 -
If you have received a CCJ claim form.
It is one of two things :
Either a an automatic CCJ if you do nothing.
Or if you defend a summons(request to appear) to a court hearing will be sent in a civil money court where you have to defend the claim by appearing or lose the case.
You can now only deal with the court itself or pay in full.
If you can not pay or wish to challenge, you have some serious staying in at weekends and nights research and paper work to do, you will have to build a robust defence based upon the contract signs and irregularities in the paper work and NTK they may have sent.
You can use points such as no locus standi, (no interest in land) , no offer to park to no permit holders, no keeper liability established, spurious amounts claimed above initial contract.
They are similar defences posted which can be found by searching the forum.
If you ignore this advice and start speaking with the parking firm, they will just let the time run out and thus gain a default CCJ.
You should gave paper work from the court with instructions and passwords to log in and select defend, you can then gain another 14 days to submit a full defence from your burning the midnight oil research.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
The advice hasn't been to "ignore" PPC invoices since October 2012 when POFA came into force.0

I've searched the forum for defences but it doesn't make any sense - it's all in jargon and acronyms.
How would I go about doing this?
Is the fact that I've contacted PPA not good?0 -
Contacting the parking firm wont make any difference unless it is to pay the demand.
Yes this is complicated, you are are going to have to start at the beginning , acronyms and all, research your defence, trim it to fit.
Get the midnight oil out and ready to burn and cancel those nights out.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Sit down with the beverage of your choice and read this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
It's long and you will need to read it several times before you understand it. There is a section on court claims that you will need to read and digest thoroughly.0
