PPI - Credit Cards, Payday Loans, Bank Loans

Good afternoon,

In the past I've had taken loans from
- Capital One credit card,
- Barclays credit card
- Aqua credit card
- Several payday loans
- Barclays loan.

My questions are:
1. Can I claim PPI from payday loans?
2. Can I claim PPI from credit cards?

Many thanks.

Which pay day loans managed to sell you PPI on a 30 day loan?!

Did you have PPI on your credit cards?

Credit cards are easy to check - look on your old statements, if you had a balance (didn't pay in full) and had PPI it would be listed as a new line on the bill - if so, yes you can complain, what are your complaint reasons?

Pay Day loans - not a chance, they make money from you not paying it off, why would they sell insurance cover to help you pay it back?

Barclays loan - possibly, it would be on the loan statement

If you want to check and don't have statements, ring them up and ask

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Be interesting to know what pay day loans (which are typically less than 30 days) had PPI on them (which has a typical deferment period of 90 days.

What are your reasons for complaint?

I was just wondering if it is applicable to payday loans also and, if so, how to check.
  • Payday loans were also mis sold between 2010 and 2015

The payday lenders were allowing clients to "rollover" their loan to the next month and adding a charge for doing so.

By d I got this they made the loan unaff Enable and breached FCA guidelines

Payday loans could be miss-sold yes, but there would be no PPI on it

If there is an issue with the payday loans post on the loans forum of MSE for advice on whether they were following the rules

I believe the last sentence is meant to read "make the loan unenforceable" but I wouldn't take the advice of a new poster on this
