How to ensure I have every debt listed
When filling in my forms for an DRO how do I ensure I have ALL debts listed.
Things got a bit out of control 10 years ago, then I had a DMP with Payplan, then I defaulted on that etc. Now i want to do a DRO and while I think I have everything listed, I want to make sure I have!
Noddle lists quite a lot of debts, while Clearscore says I have none.
Shall I use all the other credit reference agencies (paying if I need to) and then that will ensure I have everything covered?

Hi Peeping
By all means, obtain a copy of your credit file from each of the three credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax/Clearscore, Callcredit/Noddle) - as you have seen, information may be reported to one of three but not the others. You should list in your DRO anything that appears across the three reports.
You need to bear in mind that not all debt types will necessarily appear on a credit report. For example, council tax debts are not reported to credit reference agencies, nor are benefit overpayments. Some utility companies will share information with these agencies, but not all do. Council-issued parking tickets are another debt that you would not see on there - there are other examples beyond these ones.
If it is over six years since you last dealt with a debt, that may well explain it not appearing anywhere now. Such a debt may no longer be enforceable against you now, but if you know of it it is better to list it in order to be on the safe side.
Is it possible for Payplan to forward you details of the debts they were handling, if they still hold that information?

Yes luckily I had asked Payplan to send me a report before my account was closed so i have info of those debts.
i will ask for credit reports while I wait for my DRO paperwork to arrive from Stepchange.0 -

Noddle is callcredit
Clearscore is Equifax
The one you are missing is Experian - a £2 statutory report would do the job
Remember to add any benefit overpayments, council tax arrears, water debts, rent arrears, parking tickets - none of these will be on any credit report.0
