Flats appreciating more than houses (?)

Is it my imagination or are flats going up in price more than houses? And if this is indeed the case, what is the reason? Supply and demand I suppose but is this a countrywide trend?
Comments appreciated.

  • Depends where you're looking.
In the midlands where I live houses are still more popular as they are quite cheap, but in Manchester for example they're as expensive as houses in the city centre.

I think if you're in a busy city centre then of course flats are going to increase in price as there will be a demand for them.

please provide the source of your information and in any event this thread belongs in the pointless waste of time speculating section - ie on the DEBATE house prices and the economy board here. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=149

The whole point of this house buying renting & selling board that you have posted in is to allow people with real problems to get help. The other board is for the fruitcakes
