Euro car parks

Hi,
I have received a parking charge notice from euro car parks for £100!
I was driving through Manchester city trying to find the Arndale shopping centre but got a bit lost, I parked on this car park for apparently 11 mins to find a route on google maps.
We never left the vehicle. They have 2 photos of my reg in black and white not the whole car.
I have been told by many people to just ignore it, would this be the right thing to do?
Thanks

"I have been told by many people to just ignore it,"
ask them if they will chip in and help pay any invoices that you get ... I bet they say no!
as above please read the newbies thread in the link
good luck

Euro Car Parks is internationally renowned for its first class parking services, instantly recognisable and highly respected brand, outstanding customer service and market leading expertise. Founded in 1976, ECP employs 1000+ staff and operates over 1000 car parks across the UK, Ireland and Europe, assisting 500,000 motorists a day.
First class parking services - Hah!
Assisting 500,000 motorists a day - Assisting them in lightening their wallets to the tune of £100 a time, perhaps!
Follow the Newbies thread to appeal. While the regulars will recommend not altering the blue template letter text in any way, personally I would be amending the letter to refer to the BPA (the ATA of which Euro CP are a member) Code of Practice, which states that a reasonable grace period must be allowed, and that you have not exceeded it. There was also - somewhere - some wording that you can find from (I think) a POPLA assessor, or perhaps a judge, which states that parking is defined as "leaving your car unattended" (I'm paraphrasing), and certainly not "being sat in it with the engine running checking a map".0 -
Thanks for all your replies guys much appreciated.0
