How Would I Transfer Money To My Current Account, from my Credit Card?

I pay my credit card bills online and last week made a small boo boo. Instead of typing 1000 I typed 10000 without realising so have paid them £9000 too much! Checked my statement online and it says, obviously, that I'm way in credit. What is the best way of transfering money from a credit card to my debit account? Both my accounts are with Lloyds. Will I have to pay some sort of commission fee? Or just use my credit card until it's back to normal (not really my favourite option!)?

Cheers

  • Just contact them in the morning and ask for it to be transferred back. Should be back in your account in a few days with no charges!

  • Hello my friend.
It comes to happen that I work at the department that processes the refunds payments from credit cards to current accounts.
Just to let you now that refunding the money is free of charge (of course!!!)
We will send you the funds as a giro to your current account (must be a Ltsb one) and it would take about 3 working days (providing the funds have cleared already, you know, the 7 working days that they need to have been on the current acct).
In case you didn't have a ltsb current acct (or if you prefer...) we would send you a cheque to the address we hold for your account (the one that appears on your statements). That may take up to 10 working days, providing the funds have cleared.
We hardly, rarely ever do BACS.
Just pop in any branch and let them now (or do it over the phone calling the helpline at 0870 010 6633, it will be much faster).
    I hope it helps!!!

Its a shame the second part is mostly !!!!!!

Due to anti money laundering, and other banking problems (i.e fraudulent payments, credit abuse) the bank will not issue you with a cheque for the amount or a refund to another bank account, they probably wont even give you the funds back until after an extended authorisation period to make sure its not going to bounce

They should however transfer the funds back to the source account if you explain the problem

This may seem excessive but it does happen, a lot were people make dodgy payments to deliberatly get more out of accounts and when the payment bounces the bank ends up twice the credit limit out of pocket or more

As far as im aware the above is the policy taken by all banks now so phone and ask them to return the payment to source and make the correct payment once it arrives
  • Hi!!! If you like, you may use this geographical number (a lot better, I know!!!)

    01702 278272

Hope it helps....by the way....unlike stated by some people above, WE DO SEND CHEQUES
