Heylo, I'm Chris, been reading these forums (all of them!) for ages, but never had an account until now!
I'm looking to book a short break (7 nights) somewhere nice, but nowhere specific, for myself and my two parents, all over 21. But leaving next week (between Monday and Saturday.) Budget is real tight (~ £200 pp or less), so I was hoping there'd be some kind of site listing cancellations for package holidays listed by departure airport? (Incidentally, we're in Edinburgh, so only EDI or Glasgow, or maybe Prestwick would do for departing.) Also, I have to be back by the 30th, as I'm leaving for Australia, via London and Brunei, on 1st Oct! A semi-permanent move. It's my year out, that's my excuse
So does anyone have any ideas where to start? Extreme late deals / cancellations? I couldn't find much searching the forums, but maybe I overlooked something?
Anyone travelling via Royal Brunei on the 2nd October from Heathrow, and staying overnight in the airport?! I've never flown before! Talk about chucking yourself in at the deep end.
Thanks in advance for any help, hopefully I'll post more regularly now i actually have an account.

Anyone? Still looking! Got excited when I found £139 to Menorca, 7 nights, leaving fri 21st from Edinburgh... but the return flight is to London Gatwick! How can such a booking be of use to anyone, except in lucky situations!
It's listed here if anyone's intersted:

Put any Scotland as the UK airport, and dates so that the 21st Sept is included.
No flights at appropriate times between Gatwick and Edinburgh on the day coming back, otherwise it'd be booked by me!

I've had the joys of an overnight at Brunei Airport. It's EXCEPTIONALLY dull. Take a very good book!0 -
Hi
I've had a quick look around the bargain holiday sites and there doesn't seem to be much going from your neck of the woods for under £200.You could maybe go to Spain for around £239?
I'd keep an eye on teletext if I were you, there's usually loads of hols based on 4 sharing. However, be aware that the prices that first catch your eye usually don't include transfers/inflight meals/airport taxes and various other little extras that one used to take for granted! Not to mention credit card charges
Unfortunately being tied to such tight dates and Scotland only departure will cut down your options dramatically.
Let us know if you find anything......:wave:0 -

That was an awesome deal sloppychops, and I tried to find out about it while this forum was down (i think?)... unfortunately there was only one seat left on that flight though!
However, I did manage to phone Thomas Cook direct (a last resort, and not normally recommended, I know,) so now we're heading off to Praia da Luz in Portugal on Thursday, for £230 pp, 7 nights, 3* hotel, but unfortunately leaving from Newcastle at 7AM! Early start that morning then...
Not the bargain basement deal I had in mind, but the old folks are happy with it, so that's the main thing.
Thanks for the advice and quotes, you're v. kind.

Glad you got it sorted and i had a feeling whatever flights were available on the deal i posted would not last long.
