Disputed car accident...surely not my fault?

That £10 a year you pay for legal cover becomes worth its weight in gold in cases like this.0

Even if you were stationary (ignoring the cars ahead) then she is at fault for not paying attention.
Make it clear to your insurers that you will not countenance any claim from her and explain that you are pursuing a claim yourself and any action they take to settle her claim will prejudice your position.
I suspect she has gone home to explain accident to parents / husband and tried to put a positive spin on things by blaming you and this has then been reported to her insurers. She really has no leg to stand on.
Is she using Lionel Hutz attorney at law by any chance? *

Thanks everyone for your rapid and re-assuring response. I now expect the arguements to last a while, but I wont give up no matter what, and I'll continue to phone my insurance at least weekly.
Thanks Wendy for the warning on Churchill and I think that's a great idea about making a list of insurance and having folks 'rate' them.
When this is over I'll be sure to give my opinion of Highway Insurance.
Thanks again. Mike0
