Passport Expiration

Hi All. Just wondering about the length of time necessary that there should be (if at all) on an EU Passport. My daughter's been offered a last minute holiday and will travel in a few weeks. She has a Passport that expires in December, she'll be away for a week.
She doesn't want to risk renewing in case her new passport's not back in time, but wasn't sure if there was some stipulation about the amount of months left on her Passport.
thanks in advance.

It depends on where she's travelling to. For many countries the passport does not need to be valid for longer than the journey. Afaik this is true within the EU, EEC and also Canada and some others ...0

The majority of holiday destinations don't need any time left on a passport, certainly none in the EU, you can use your passport up to the day it expires. There are a few exceptions, Iceland being one, others are more far flung destinations with visa requirements anyway, you don't even need time left on your passport after departure for USA.
So, where is she going?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

She has a non-UK EU passport? Going where? Or a UK passport going to an EU country?Hi All. Just wondering about the length of time necessary that there should be (if at all) on an EU Passport.
If the latter, no extra validity is required, it can be used up to the last day. At present, that is. When Brits lose their EU citizenship it may be different, nobody knows.Evolution, not revolution0
