Appliance warrantee expired and discovered a problem! :/

Hello, can anyone help.
I bought an appliance last September. Discovered a problem with it (nothing serious, but it needs fixing - seal is coming away).
Went to get my warrantee paperwork out and realised it expired almost a month ago, to the day!!
My question is this?
I purchased it on a Post Office credit card (Platinum card, in case it makes a difference).
Because it was purchased on a credit card, is there a chance that I might have been automatically covered by the credit card for some kind of additional warrantee? Does that make sense? I know sometimes there are perks to buying with a cc.
I'm thinking it may be a shot in the dark, but I know sometimes you do get added benefits.
Does anyone know? I suppose I could contact the appliance company but I suppose they will probably say tough luck.
Any thoughts or advice welcome.

In there you will discover that you have up to six years to seek a remedy from whoever sold the thing to you.
You might also want to look at MSE's Section 75 document to find out about credit card 'perks'.0 -
Are we talking about a seal on an oven or washing machine door?If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Have you contacted the company you purchased from or perhaps the manufacturer?0

Thanks for the replies. It is the seal on the fridge door. It has come away from the door, you can push it back in again but as soon as you close the door and reopen it, the pressure sucks it back out again.
Yes as a seasoned MSE'r I should probably take a look at that link.Thank you everyone.
