Unusual predicament

Hello,

I have received a fine from FIRST PARKING LLP around March 2016 for 'Yellow box contravention' or something along those lines. Though I never had any charges displayed on my windscreen nor did I receive any correspondence in the post to my home address. I had changed my address with the DVLA and must have been through the transition process that they may have sent correspondence however I was not living at that address.

As I'm made aware by the new owners of that household recently, there are several letters from the DRP Debt Recovery agency, with endless levels of threats that I picked up, however the new homeowners never told me of any previous letters from First Parking LLP. It seems to have skipped a large section of the process. I am happy to pay the full fine if I did commit the offence however there seems to be no proof, no double checking of my address as I've been out the country, I've just come back to this most random seeming fine and demands for around £200!

Can someone please advise on what I should do? I've requested DRP to resend all correspondence to my new address, though they haven't. Even if I did want to pay an extortionate pretend fine, I don't even have the option to do so unless with the debt recovery over the phone, who were very very rude.

Help!!

It is not a fine. Nobody here will suggest you pay you scammers anything at all.

You can safely ignore debt collectors. Do not contact the again, ever.

First Parking are BPA members so you should read the Sticky thread for NEwBIES, carefully, then send the BPA template appeal in blue you will find there.
Carefully, without revealing who was driving, tell them that you have only just received the parking charge notice because you have moved, and therefore you are appealing this unfair charge because it is the first notification you have received.

Never ever 'phone a parking company. Ignore the debt collectors, they have no powers.
I married my cousin. I had to...

Stop right there. No you are not! This is not a fine.

It is a private invoice and the entire industry is rotten. Absolute greed chases the money sloshing around from people who stupidly pay.

Stop ringing DRPlus. Read this thread that you seem to have missed:

and read post #4 of the NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' thread:

Did I say STOP RINGING and engaging with a debt collector? The only time to email them (not ring) would be to tell them your current address AND again, if you change address again, just to make sure they have the right one for you.

In England & Wales, alleged debt (even spurious rip-off made up trash like this) can be pursued for up to six years so you need to be sure you see the letters in the chain. All the time it's DRplus or Zenith, it's going nowhere but you need to know F1rst are not later trying a small claim (defendable but NEVER to be ignored).

Like everyone else, come back if you get court papers or a solicitor's letter.

As keeper, you cannot be held liable by F!rst Parking, partly because they do not use the right wording for 'keeper liability' on their PCN but also because a complete fantasy of a 'Yellow box contravention' sounds like an allegation of a moving traffic 'offence' which does not exist on private land at all!

Do not say who was driving. Stop ringing, no panic. Start reading threads!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
