Solicitors ID process

Hello
I'm new here and a first time buyer with my partner (also first time buyer)
I have been living with him in rented accomodation for the last 2.5 years.
We are in the process of buying our first home and obviously need to verify our ID with the solicitors - in thoery this is fine - My partner is sorted but i am struggling because
1. they wont accept printed statements or utility bills, and i opted for paperless!
2. My council tax bill has my partners name on too (he hasnt changed his registered address at any point as he didnt expect us to stay for as long as we have!)
It was never for any bad reason that he didnt change - we are both very honest people but now i am worried that the solicitors wont accept the council tax bill from me just because his name is also on it
Do any of you think this will be a problem and if so, is there anything else i can do?

1. Go into bank and ask for printed bank statement for solicitor. They did mine and stamped is as proof it was from them.
2. Annoying. Not much you can do about it now...
Di out all the utility bills that have your name on, and take those. They probably need to be within the last three months.
Do you drive? Take your driving license. Do you have a passport? Take that too.
Basically, when I took my ID to my solicitor, I took everything I could find and handed it all over. The more you have, the less chance they'll have to ask for something else.0 -
I was in a very similar situation to you and my solicitor accepted a posted bank statement (I banked with first direct), although I am paperless with them, you can request one to be posted. Luckily, I was prepared and had pre-requested it but it took a week to come which can delay things slightly. Mine had to be a certified photocopy so my mortgage advisor did it, as the mortgage company needed these proofs of identity at the same time.0

Just explain to your solicitor and see what they suggest. They all have different policies so no point trying to guess what they'll need.0
