Epson SX410 printer

I have an Epson SX410 printer that seems to have just stopped working.
I used it yesterday to print a Word document, but today it won't do anything apart from turn on.
When trying to print it says,"printer not ready".
When trying to scan it says, "EPSON Scan cannot be started".
Another message is, "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code43).
I have checked the connections, turned it of and on, rebooted the computer, all to no avail. one of the messages ended saying "replace device".
Any ideas or do I have to get a new printer?
Just tried to uninstall but says "printer driver cannot be deleted"
Also telling me I have the latest drivers.

Thanks, will try tomorrow.
Earlier I got it to print, but it won't scan, using AbbyFine reader, but it says drivers not installed and I can't find the installation disc.

Could be you need to reinstall the print drivers.
Do the onboard functions work? i.e scan and print, print from memory card? It may be the printer itself has faulted.0 -
Never ever use installation discs. Usually full of bloatware and old drivers.
Download the latest drivers and just the drivers from the epson website.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

According to Belarc Advisor my driver version is 3.7, (08-12-15), have just looked on Epson site and a version on there is:
Version 3.750
Release date: 19-11-09
File format: EXE
File size: 12.20MBs
Driver 6.61 (01-09-09).
Anyway I have now downloaded that and at the moment it is working.
However I now have in Devices and Printers 2 EPSON printers showing, one is Epson Stylus SX410 with an exclamation mark in a triangle, hovering mouse over this one results in no info.
The the other is Epson SX410 Series with a tick in a green circle, hovering mouse over this one says,"Status: Printer: Ready.
Clicking either of these and they both scan.
.
When clicking on properties they both give out the same information, i.e StylusDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
