Odd iphone / ipad email problem

The other day I changed my Mum's BT password successfully.

Since then I can't send her emails from either my ipad or iphone though can do so from my laptop. An error message comes up about her email password or name is incorrect.

There's a second problem which only affects my outlook email password on the iphone only - I keep on having to insert my password, every day despite saving it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the email twice and it's still happening.

Running IOS10.2

Any help with these problems would be fantastic - thanks.

I've had this problem with BT SMTP servers. I can now only send from hotmail except on my iPad. I am trying to summon up the energy to call BT but am not looking forward to it.

Not sure that sending someone an e-mail requires the sender to know the password. If you changed the password via the BT web site, did you remember to change the settings in the e-mail client such as MS Outlook if used.

After a couple of hours tinkering with settings and passwords I lost the will and just deleted all email accounts on both devices, did hard resets and then added back the emails. So far it seems to have done the trick.
