As far as I'm aware ANY access of BBC I Player requires a TV Licence in law since 1st September.
HOWEVER, still don't know how they are going to enforce it, as even with an account it doesn't link directly to a TV licence number.0 -
As brewerdave says, the rules changed recent so that any access of iplayer requires a TV Licence0

Very soon you will need to sign-up to use bbc iPlayer - so they will know if you use the service and don't pay. Also, you have posted on a public foru that you use he iPlayer but don't have a licence. Might want to sort that out...0

1. HOW will they know that you haven't paid?
2. HOW will they connect a post on this forum to an actual name/postal address??:rotfl:0 -

Yes you do need a TVL but you don't have to pay it, when someone from TVL comes over just say sorry I don't speak English and shut the door. that's what I did :beer:What happens if you push this button?0 -

It is quite an easy thing to request an IP address from MSE. As the OP has clearly admitted circumnavigating the law, MSE would likely have to comply. :rotfl:0 -

...and then after tying the IP addy to a specific ISP, they would have to force the ISP to release subscriber details via an NPO -AIN'T going to happen for a post on a forum :rotfl:
The ONLY way that BBC can prevent non subscribers viewing I Player, is to have a locked down player requiring a log in including a licence number AND some sort of restriction on the max. number of devices using that log in as SkyGo perhaps.:)0
