Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if anybody can help me out as i am going to claim compensation but not sure who to go with. Basically, i was assaulted which resulted in a fractured jaw in two places and had to undergo major jaw surgery. Also, I have permanent nerve damage due to the assault. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Not on a forum devoted simply to money-saving I'm afraid. Consult a solicitor?0

Assuming the assault has been reported as a crime

If you intend to sue the perpetrator directly then see a solicitor.0 -
Surely a judge would award damages after a guilty verdict? Or have I watched too much TV?Life is short, smile while you still have teeth

Do you mean the judge in the criminal court that found the defendant guilty, or a different judge in the civil court where the OP was making a civil claim for damages?
If the former, you've been watching too much TV0 -
So was your assailant convicted of assault/ABH/GBH, etc ??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

It's the criminal injuries compensation board, the police should have given you a leaflet, or victim support will send you one0
