Hello all, new to the forum for posting but reading lots of previous threads.
In 2012 myself and my wife decided bankruptcy was our only option, partly due to buying a flat in 2008 on a 110% mortgage with northern rock and consolidating our debts into this. Then the "bubble" burst. With issues of a listed building and building maintenance payments spiralling.
We where released a year later and now after nearly 4 years we feel brave enough to try again. Since 2013 we have saved 19k, got normal phone contracts, got finance on a car and also set up a successful business. We can comfortably afford upto a £1000 a month on a potential mortgage. My income is 50k plus a year and the wife's 20k plus.
Any advise or contacts for a decent independent mortgage advisor?

With 3 years discharged there are a handful of lenders at most. Most want there to be 6 years discharged.
Yesterday I had some clients get an Agreement in principle at normal rates after 3 days of to and fro with the underwriters, they have been discharged for 4 years and have a 25% deposit.
Realistically, I think you are going to need a minimum 15% deposit, if you have 25% I would say there are a couple of lenders who would look to do it at normal rates.
You really do need a broker with experience I think to have a decent chance of getting this through.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
