Debit card use in Dublin?

Hi, we are going to Dublin on Thursday for a few days and I know they use the euro there and we are planning on taking some with us but I just wondered if it is ok to use a visa debit card and are there any charges for using your card whilst there.
It is a Halifax Visa card if that makes any difference.
Thanks

You will have to pay a small charge for getting money out of the cashpoint- my bank charge £1.75.
If you pay with the card then the bank just convert the euros to GBP- no extra fees0 -
Is it a debit card or a credit card, i would think that there would be a charge with both although one may be more expensive than the other.0

Same as anywhere else in Europe - ie mostly a 2.75% conversion loss plus a fee on many debit cards.0

Some banks charge a £1 fee per transaction for overseas use. Cheaper to use a credit card for all non cash transactions.0

£1.50 service charge + 2.75% currency conversion fee.Lillys_mum wrote: »It is a Halifax Visa card if that makes any difference.
