Hi
We are shortly hoping to move from a normal house, to a 3 storey town house.
At the moment we have a normal wireless doorbell that is perfectly fine.
When we move I would like a bell push (plus camera) on the front and back doors, with if possible a screen on each floor so I can see who is there, and say hang on I'm coming , if needs be.
I have looked on line but cannot see anything really suitable.
Does anyone have any ideas?????
Not entirely house buying, but along those lines, and I know the people on here are very helpful and clever.

I have a first floor flat. The doorbell hasn't worked since day one.

A smart doorbell maybe, something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-doorbell-activated-Waterproof-WR230/dp/B01JGIIACG/ref=pd_sbs_60_12?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DGD810KFKE92B4EPYVYW ?
That one needs hardwiring in, but there are battery versions. Can use smartphones / tablets to view who is at the door then, you don't need to have dedicated screens on each floor.0 -

there are hundreds of companies willing to sell you a multi monitor system. here is a a list of 273 potential products at least some of which allow multiple monitors and 2 doors
http://doorentrydirect.com/index.php?main_page=products&cat_id=3&options=2
here is a system with up to 15 monitors , of course its price many not be particularly MSE even with the 10% "sale" currently on

there are even companies willing to sell you a system that connects to up to 8 individual smartphones so you can see who is there even when you are away from home. Such technology will presumably be the norm inside a decade or so anyway.

We have one similar to this and are pleased with it, works fine, although we did find we had to plug the outdoor part into the mains as the battery went flat in about a week. (We have a socket in our porch so not a problem). However, if you swap the outdoor battery round with the indoor one before it goes flat, this should enable the batteries to be permanently charged.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
The Arlo camera system will allow you to monitor a live camera from either/both front and back doors from a pad/tablet, smartphone, or from your PC/laptop
It doesn't need to be linked to the doorbell. The cameras will either kick in when they detect motion, or when you tell them to go live. They'll need to be mounted outside, probably best location is on the sill of a first-floor window, so they're out of reach from the ground. Won't provide an intercom to actually talk to the visitor, but is it so difficult to open an upstairs window ... ?

I once had one of those wireless radio type door bells. The problem was most of my neighbours had them too and as it was a terraced street - it took weeks for me to find a frequency that wasn't already being used by my neighbours...:rotfl:0

It's only one extra set of stairs. My last house was 4 storeys! Used to dread the doorbell lol. Used to just leg it down the stairs!

Oh if only I could leg it down the stairs!!!!!
That is why I want something to let the person know I am there and will be there very shortly.
I am thinking of couriers and deliveries. Where I live now they leave on the doorstep if I am not there with in 2 seconds. Not a problem where I am, but not sure about where I going.
Will not go into why they cant wait 3 seconds for someone to answer the door in person. Just wanted suggestions, which I have been given.
I will investigate them further, so thank you.0 -
