in Credit cards
I've just noticed that a company with the name sst*stshld has taken money from my account.
I have checked online and can't find anything in the way of contact info etc. I have found lots of complaints about the same company taking a lot more money on multiple occasions from other people but no one seems to know who they are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You've posted on the Credit Card board - if this has been debited to your credit card, and you don't recognise it, your first call should be to the credit card company to dispute the payment (and only then post on MSE):heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I'm still none the wiser as to what they actually do.
Edit - one of those voucher things. Did you tick a box for an affiliate site when buying something on line. That's what usually happens with these.

I've sent them an email so hopefully it will get dealt with.
There are hundreds of complaints about them doing the same thing to a lot of people on aspokesmansaid.com
I like the way they ask you to give a reference number when you clearly won't have one if you never signed up in the first place... :rotfl:0 -

Make sure that you also get in touch with your bank and CANCEL any future payments from them.0 -
Have you checked your spam emails to make sure there's nothing lurking in there?
Parent got caught out by a similar one of these - they did refund the amount taken when she complained. We worked out she had signed up to it without realising it was a paid subscription. I suspect a lot of people have done the same.
You buy something on line (think parents was from Argos), a pop up box comes up asking if you're interested in discounts next time you shop then when you say yes it sends you to an affiliate link and signs you up for the paid service.
People like to think they're getting something for nothing and don't read the small print. My guess is a lot of the people complaining have done exactly the same, thinking they were getting a freebie. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

The regulations came into force on 13 June 2014.
Additionally, promotion of a premium rate 0845 number without mentioning call costs in close proximity to the number is a breach of Ofcom regulations - the 'condition binding non-providers':
