Driving licence change of address

Hi when you change address you have to get it changed on your licence too. What if you move somewhere but will only be there a few months before moving to another place?

For example, you sell a house, rent a few months before moving into the home you have bought. Do I have to change license address twice??

Thanks

The address on your V5C and driving licence have to be somewhere at which you can be contacted in a timely manner. So, if you're going to be moving about, can you put them at an address which won't change, then once you're steady, change them?

Insurance has to be accurate, because they base the premium on the location.

So the license doesnt have to be at the address im currently residing in (even if i wont be there for long).

I totally forgot about my insurance!, i just got in contact and told them about the change.

Your diving licence address needs to be somewhere you can be contacted at without a deadly, so a relatives would work so long as you could pick up post in a day or two.

V5 similarly needs to be easily contactable, as this will be the address used for notices for speeding fines etc

Insurance is probably most important as this will be the address you keep the car, this needs to be accurate as those details will affect your insurance premium.

I worked away a couple of years ago, tried to maintain my main address for correspondence and advised of the fact I was away during the week, they charged additional for the move, but then trying to explain this to a call centre even after I advised about the fact that the week time address was temporary was annoyingly complicated.
