All four of my wheels (18 inch Icauna diamond cut) are starting to corrode, car is only 2 1/2 years old, Peugeot will only pay for two replacing (long story but its a final offer....

If i pay for other two dealer will fit for free at same time, problem is they are £271 each !

After searching the internet the only place i can find them cheaper is from the website below. 162 euro each, so much cheaper.

http://eshop-peugeot.cz/gb/

The website looks legit, the building exists as a Peugeot dealer albeit in the Czech Republic.

Can you see any reason not to buy and have them shipped ? they accept credit card, so hopefully would be protected. I assume i would have to pay any import duty or vat as they are in EU ?

I just feel a bit hesitant, as if i may get my fingers burnt !

I wouldn't stand for that. Is the car on finance? If so complain to the finance company and insist all 4 wheels get replaced.

On the imported wheels there should be no duty to pay but postage might cost a fair bit.

The shipping is only 24 euro. I own the car outright.

The dispute is over the fact the dealer says two of the 4 wheel have been either refurbished or had a smart repair, as i only bought the car at 12 months old and am the second owner i cannot prove or disprove this, due to this Peugeot will not accept a warranty claim.

Privately, on close inspection now pointed out, i tend to agree the finish does look "odd" in places.

My main concern are the risks around ordering from a CZ company, it all looks legit but you never know.

Are they paying for 2 only if you pay for two, in which case pugeot are cheaper than buying 4 yourself, or will they just dump two wheels on the counter and demand "their" two back immediately in exchange?

Or will they give you the new 2 and you can get the tyres refitted for about £10 a wheel, then you import two for 324 eu + post and pay again.

Whether the parts are the same or not I wouldn't know, but...

I bought some cheap Suzuki "geniune parts" this year, came in hologram boxes alright, but they are Maruti Suzuki, made in India, and they don't look anywhere near as good as the Japanese ones....

They are offering to pay for 2 wheels and fitting regardless of whether i buy the other two, they do want the corroded two back for inspection.

It was my suggestion to them that i buy the other two from the dealer and asked if they would cancel any labour charges associated with fitting them as well. They agreed but i can, if need be, just get the two free ones.

The benefit to me of letting the dealer do everything is convenience but at cost (£540)

If i buy the wheels from elsewhere (£320), i doubt the dealer will fit FOC, which means me seeking a competent fitter who not only can change tyres but also knows how to deal with the TPMS sensors. I'm probably worrying about the swap too much but knowing Peugeot electronics, i'd hate to have issues after the swap and have to go back to the dealer...

Ps, i know i could just have the other two refurbished but as they are 18inch and diamond cut its over £100 a wheel and would mean the car been off-road two days. Where as the CZ wheels are about £140 new.

Take the offer of TWO, refurbish those that they replace, have the tyres swapped over, fit to car, dispense with the remaining two at a scrapper - maybe for a bit of cash.

Why not just get them refurbished for £40 - £60 per wheel?

Been there, done that, you might as well paint them with household emulsion and a brush.

The £60 people don't bother with etch primer, they just hope the powder coat stays on long enough to get you off their frontage.
