Good Morning all and welcome to a new month ,the weather is bright at the moment and the clouds are pretty high.
Start of a new month, so accounting to be sorted, and bills paid. I always do my accounts on 1st of the month and make sure everything is in order.

Left over cash from food purse will get swept into holiday account for next August :) Holiday house already booked and ferries get booked after Christmas. I am quite an organised person really :) Tomorrow morning I shall do my menu's for the coming week.DD will be coming for brunch breakfast of scrambled eggs and copious amounts of coffee as is he custom on Sunday mornings from Oct -March as her caravan in deal closes its site down for the winter.

I polished off all of the ironing last night though, and got it put away as well which is a job I het doing for some reason.I also made a large pot of ground rice pud in the SC with sultanas and cinnamon so pudding sorted for several days Leek and potato soup for lunch today as I made some on Thursday.Still working my way through the freezer, and I am hoping to get it defrosted before Christmas.

Hope everyone has a good day and the weather keeps warm for a bit longer, might make the winter shorter IYSWIM :)

Furry ; beautiful dog I am sure he has left a large gap in your life <<hugs>> to you all

Right time to get a wriggle on

enjoy your weekend chums what ever you are doing

FBO what a beautiful photo of Ozzie. Good luck with your 10k race

Have been reading posts all week and thinking of everyone

Mixed morning weather wise here sunshine and showers. WM on and need to do a few loads today. Have already been shopping and picked up a few yellow sticker items in A***.
I managed to get a punnet of plums for 36p and had some duck in the freezer so would like to try a plum sauce. Do any of you lovely folks have a full proof recipe? May use the rest for a plum crumble.

I have joined the October GC and have been keeping all my receipts. Had a tot up this morning and Im not very happy as we have spent more than we should have done. Seems DH idea of shopping is half a basket of sweet things grrr.:eek:
So I have bought some sultanas and I'm going to make him some rock cakes and might do a Victoria sponge and tell him that's all he can have this week.
We are still within budget so I have done a spreadsheet to allocate what we are buying and will then try to reign things in.

Been a busy week at work and home. Had a look at my holiday sheet this week and discovered I have a good amount of annual leave left so may take a few days this month and next to try to get the house in a bit of order.

Right I have waffled on for long enough, try to get a shifty on.

Sending ((((((Hugs)))))) to all those who are all or sad or who have family and friends going through a hard time.

    Have a good weekend

  • Been perdiddling down here all night and it is that horrid fine drizzle now :( thank goodness I got all of the washing done yesterday and it dried on the line :D

DH is fixing the downstairs loo, ballcock has gone and it needs a new handle, he is a real grump today

Going to town this afternoon to see what man in market is fllogging off cheap and to get some bits from Wilko and Farmfooods. I especially want to get some more sugar while it is 39p a bag, I use it in everything icluding cakes, I refuse to pay the price the supermarkups want for castor sugar:eek::eek:

Making the Christmas cakes on Monday. I am making 8 small ones this year, one for us, one for outlaws, one for Best friend, and five more for gift hampers, for good friends.

What a lovely dog FBOZ, it is heartbreaking when we lose them :( ((((Hugs))))

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend

  • Afternoon everyone and a miserable day here, I was really cold when I got up but resisted coming up for another layer as didn't want to disturb the mister. He had his lie-in and has been shopping, thankfully Mr T this time. Mr M tends to be cheaper but am not convinced of the quality of some things so can be a false economy.

He will be cooking today, cottage pie.

I've had a few bad nights with nightmares and am feeling a bit dull today, I will tackle a bit of ironing then get on with the toddler clothes I'm knitting for friends.

Mouth is healing I think, am doing a saline wash several times each day.

FurryBeast, he was a beautiful boy.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Camelot 1001 - hope you enjoy Billy Elliot, I'm going to see it in a few weeks time. I've seen it a couple of years ago in London and it was so good that I had to buy tickets when I knew it was coming to Edinburgh.
Lots of washing out today, but its not drying well...though it does seem to be brightening up a bit. Done a pile of ironing and cleaned bathrooms. Hoovering still to do then planning to have a nice lazy afternoon.
Jackie - I don't like putting ironing away either....don't mind the actually ironing part.
Hope you all have a good day x
  • afternoon (((((((((((hugs))))))))) if you need one.

Slow start to the day, it was forecast to rain, we seem to have had it during the night. The sky was quite blue earlier but grey now. No laundry out so thats fine.

Sweetcorn again for lunch with some bread and butter. WE are out for supper tonight, I have my bag of goodies for the charity by the front door.

I cut the back lawn yesterday afternoon, a good job done, will have to do the front again shortly, may be one day next week if the weather stays fine.

Am back home, and in the sunshine too.

I was up and out of Mum's house by 8.30a.m. and in town in plenty of time. I'd forgotten that M&S was so far from where I parked...did me good even though there was a blanket of morning fog and quite cold.

Turns out that M&S lengthen their trousers by 2 inches without telling anyone, even staff. Glad I'm not shrinking - yet! Got a refund on my top at JL and managed to scoop up three things that Mum wanted, so a good trip.

Took Mum shopping and sat reading a paper whilst she toddled around the shop. We didn't go for lunch as she was pretty whacked after her foray round the whole supermarket. I had a few 'chores' to do for her before heading home. By then the sun was shining its wee heart out so my drive home was lovely.

Unpacked now, stripped the bed at Mums place so that's all in the machine ready to do tomorrow. Just doing a few odd jobs before settling down to Strictly and a glass of wine.

FBOz - what a wonderful picture of Oz, I didn't realise he was a such a big and beautiful beast. Hugs.

Aww FBO , he was a stunning boy :( Are you not tempted to get another in the future? When my lovely girl Candy died in August, I said no other dog could ever replace her, but it's way too quiet for me n Buddy now, so i'm getting a new pup next month called Bonnie :)
RR congrats to your DD on her new career, she deserves it :j
Am making soup of some sort later, n will eat whilst watching Strictly. Can't wait to see Judge Rinder again :rotfl:
Huggles to all the poorlies n peed offs xx:A
