This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning all.
The forecast is for 'sunny' here in Glasgow, I live in hope.
I'll be zooming into town first thing to return a jumper to JL and a pair of trousers to M&S. The lovely jumper I bought last weekend is a 'relaxed fit' which turns out to mean baggy and too big. I've not had anything too big for years! Trousers are too long, I must be shrinking as I've worn regular length trousers from M&S for all of my adult life and now they would need turned up at the leg and waist. The waistband was up under my bust so I'll need to get the short length instead.
Then I'll take mum shopping and she wants to have lunch out somewhere. There's a nice place near to where we go shopping and we'll both enjoy they. I think it's an apology for her bad behaviour last week.
I hope to home not too late to enjoy the sunshine there. Yesterday the rain was dreadful again. My usual route to reach the main road where I live was closed off because it was flooded. It's right next to the sea and once the marshland / moss fills up the only place for water is the road.
Anyway - thinking of my fellow members and virtual friends. Hugs all round.0 -
Morning All
It's not raining! Apparently we are due to have a decent day. I've not done any washing yet as my friend across the road's machine is out of action and have done 3 loads for her. I think I'll put mine in the conservatory as I will be in late this evening.
Off to Edinburgh today to see Billy Elliot, a friend had some spare tickets her guides were not using so I'm going with them. Train at 9.30 and wont be home till 9 this evening, matinee performance and something to eat too.
RR - Congrats to your DD.
Well done Dumpling, seems you think nothing of visiting a shop now!
Hope your DM is enjoying being out of hospital Lainey.
Enjoy your lunch Gers.
MacMillan coffee morning raised over £500 yesterday, I think I ate most of it! Good to see such strong support.
Have a good weekend. Take care. XX0 -

Well done to RR's DD.
I didn't post until late yesterday I was up to my neck in baking for Macmillan and was up the night before with my L&M who wasn't feeling well, we both slept better last night.
We have DGS12 here at the moment, he is off to football at 9:30 so we will collect his 2 yo sister when we drop him off.

Morning everyone,
Actually slept right through the night and have only just got up :j feels good after so many sleepless nights.
Dry, bright and sunny here but don't think it's meant to last, shame as have loads of washing to do but ho-hum, it will wait until tomorrow.
Need to catch up on a few chores this morning and then will go over to spend the afternoon with Mum, DB would like to go to the footie and SIL is at a course all weekend. By the sounds of it Mum is mostly catching up on all her fab programmes so it's been wall to wall GBBO and Strictly
I turned the calendar over this morning and remembered that it's Rosie dogs birthday today, 13 years old and still acts like a puppy, love her heart x
Thinking of all poorlies and family members going through troubles.
That's great news re your DD Rruby, hope all goes well for her.
Have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -

Hi All
Hugs and positivity to all that need them - and love and light to all in a dark place - keep going xx. Thanks to everyone sharing their good news and for those sharing sad news - I hope the clouds are lifting a bit today.
Moved loads of furniture around and on the recommendation of heating man, took the radiator cabinets off the radiators in the downstairs rooms (the only place we have them) . He said they were robbing well over half of the heat they were putting out. The radiator cabinets don't literally hold the heat - but they do stop the type of radiators we have from doing their convection thing and circulating it into the room. Science! Well, whatever - he was right! The walls around the radiators look grim so I'll need to wash them down - and of course, when the heating is off - I can move the cabinets back to hide remaining grimness.
Have a lovely day all - it is crisp and bright here (forecast changed yesterday eve, from end of days and being underwater - showers due later - but hopefully washing will be in by then lol). xxxxxx2022 | Back to the fold - need a Money Saving mojo reboot!

Morning all, thanks for the thread Gers xx Enjoy your lunch
Furry - such a beautiful photo of Ozzie, sending hugs xxx
Lainey - enjoy your day with Mum xx
Camelot - have a great time at the theatre xx
It's DDs 15th birthday today. She is just up and out of the shower. Meeting up with the her friends later to go to the cinema. DS1 is working 5-midnight today so I may take a little nap this afternoon as staying up that late is a real struggle for me. Tomorrow he is back there 10am-5pm and DD needs to be at rugby training for 10am also. This single parenting lark is tough!
Will be ironing school uniforms later - managed to get them washed and dried yesterday as DD and DS2 were on inset day.
Have a good day all

Better than chasing the postman. He was looking for Ozzie this morning and was very sad. (Possible also secretly glad that he doesn't have to keep an eye out now to see if Ozzie's in a chasing and jumping mood or not - about the only time he ever went above a sedate and regal stroll:A
Right. I'm off for a walk anyway. It's a glorious day. Then we are going to get a new back door - the current one has an Ozzie flap (or burglar flap as my husband terms it:D) and take all his things to the Dogs trust for some other dog who needs some help.
Then I'm cooking - I have a 10k race tomorrow morning, followed by visitors for the afternoon and dinner. At least I will be busy:)Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0
