Did you know that in some parts of the country most people are no more than three metres from a computer?

Where have they come from ? Do you have them in the rest of your house ?
This isnt a technical issue and if you really want my advice i would bin it and get my house fumigated and then work out which of my bad habits let me get infested with insects.

All the advice about cleaning your computer is all well and good. But you can bet the infestation didnt start there, and is just a symptom of a larger problem

Only saw a couple of insects. There are none in the area where the laptop is kept.

There are always insects in any home. Part of nature. Some harmless some a nuisance.

Just had the laptop out and been checking over it and around the area it was stored. Nothing there.

Have wrapped it to in a bin liner and put it to one side. Will open it after a week to see what I find. If there is something then going to bin it.

Sorry for my earlier facetious comment. If you are worried about disinfesting your laptop I wonder if you could wrap it up and put it in the freezer for 24 hours?

And you are right about all homes have insects. They were probably attracted by the heat and warmth of the laptop. Perhaps they were larvae of some sort.

I live in the countryside, and every summer for about two weeks we are invaded by tiny little thunder flies (thrips). I have three if them inside my laptop screen. They get behind the glass on pictures. Nothing you can do about them. Even with the windows closed they get in through the tiniest gaps.
  • When is somebody going to tell the OP that these insects have probably fallen out of his hair?

Lol. I am still waiting to be told.
  • Most insects like warm location. Anyway, you can spray your keyboard with can of compressed air to remove crumbs on crevices.
