Laminate flooring quote

Hi chaps!
Looking to get some laminate flooring laid in our lounge. We've already bought the floor itself and the underlay so just need someone to fit it. A friend of a friend turns out to be a floor fitter and has quoted £300 to take up the existing laminate and then fit the new floor for us - the room is 24 square metres. Has also said he can dispose of the old floor for £70 if we don't want to take it to the tip ourselves. Husband thinks the quote is a bit steep, I really have no idea what floor fitting should cost! Any thoughts?

Have you got another quote for comparison?0

You can sell that 24square metres of laminate for a good £50 or more if it's a nice one, and someone will come and take it up for you!
To fit 24square metres it will take you exactly 5-6hours even if you are total beginner...
why waste money on such a simple task? Do it yourself?
here is the kit you need to fit it, and a hammer and a jigsaw to cut it up.

If I were close to you I would do it for £100 if I can have the old flooring and you supply all the materials.
but did i already told you how easy it is to do it yourself?0 -
I agree with Krey except I'd use a chop saw rather than a jigsaw. To me too £100 would seem reasonable, but probably not enough if you were doing it every day for a living.0
