All,
Hope you can help me. For the past few months i have been receiving some pretty agressive mobile calls from various call centres in India trying to market loans - the scary part is they seem to have info on my mortgage, that I applied for a loan (didn't!) etc. These calls are extremely persistent & frequent - sometimes several times a day.
To cut a long story short, I have now received a letter from loans.co.uk stating they have 'inadvertently' sold my info to a third party - including DOB, address, mortgage details, telephone no. etc.
They have offered my free experian membership (which I have already got as i was terrified how these callers had got my details and the letter states the they belive the possibility of identity theft is 'unlikely'
Any advice anyone can offer? Should i be seeking legal advice?
FYI - I have also recently had a fraudelent transaction on one of my credit cards - could this be linked??
Really, really worries, hoping someone can help! Surely co's are not allowed to sell on this kind of info??
Distressed (very)!

Just wanted to clarify - the info has been sold without their permission and they have notified the police - however, any advice on what I should do?0

Fermi,
Thanks so much for this - obviously my search for loans.co.uk didn't work!
Great to hear others have experienced the same thing. Have been on the CAG site and got examples of letters to send - will be on to it tomorrow!0
