Day trip / Weekend in Paris

Hi All!
I want to surprise my Mum with a trip to Paris for her birthday (end Sept) but I'm on a tight budget! We ideally need to go at the weekend as I can't get much time off work at the moment, and we're going from Northampton. Happy to go by coach / train / plane, a package inc hotel and transfers would be ideal.
Anyone know of any offers on at the minute, cheap eurostar deals etc?
Any help would be gratefully received!
Thanks
Sarah

erm, I used to live in Paris as a student and flew home a lot with bmibaby to east midlands airport. expedia may do some nice package deals though - have a look? if not, I can recommend a 'traditional' place to stay in the Chinese quartier near the quartier latin, but it's by no means glam (although about £15 a night and walkable to various places...!:A0

By coach is slow, you would arrive at 7:15pm on Saturday and leave 2pm on Sunday. Unless you leave Northampton at 2:25am to arrive at 3:30pm, and buy multiple tickets due to lack to though ticketing between Greenline and National Express.
Of the remaining travel options train + rail replacement bus is the quickest and cheapest, from £175 about 5 hours out and 6 hours back including check-in, and you can leave at 5:45pm Friday evening.
A Eurostar ticket entitles you to a discount on connecting trains to London, ask for a ticket to London International (£25.90 return Northampton to London Waterloo)0 -
Day return on P&O Ferries Dover/Calais route with www.cheaperferries.com cost me just £30. Driving time to Paris is about 2hours 45 mins normally.
Only expensive bit of the trip was the cost of the speeding fine I had to pay to the French Gendarmerie!!0 -
Which hotel is that dearbarbie?0
