Carers allowance

Been on hold for about half an hour on their "helpline" so gave up listening to Vivaldi and thought I'd ask here and see if anyone knows.
My wife has just got a PIP award (enhanced rate living, standard rate mobility, relief!) after many years on DLA; my question is whether my CA will automatically continue or whether I'll have to reapply?
Thanks.

OH had her DLA moved to PIP and I just carried on being the carer with no need to change anything.I don't like morning people. Or mornings. Or people.0

Thanks Sam. From building up horrible thoughts about the process and the possibility of losing it and being in fear for months it's actually transpired that we're going to be more than £100 a month better off! Certainly wasn't expecting that; the important thing was me being able to stay at home to look after her but it's a welcome bonus.
Have to thank the CAB for filling out the application with us, they were brilliant!“Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."0 -
Well done Mike, 100 per month is a huge bonus and entirely deserved no doubt. As a fellow male carer for a spouse I salute you.
I always advise any carer to get help with those forms as they are a nightmare from start to finish. We've had help from Social Services and local care group with ours.
Good luck to both of you.I don't like morning people. Or mornings. Or people.0 -
When I was changed from DLA to PIP, my carer's claim didn't change and we didn't have to reapply. As long as nothing's changed to affect your entitlement to CA, I don't think they ask people to reapply

Couldn't agree more, the one time we did it ourselves (DLA) she got the lower rate so no CA. Got it back on appeal but never again!
And thanks for the words, I salute you back:).“Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."0
