Ringing a mobile in India

Hello, hope you can help.

My daughter is travelling around India for four months. She has a working mobile phone, but only sporadic access to Internet and Skype.

What is the easiest and cheapest way for us to call her?

Many thanks

If you have regular access to internet, the cheapest way is usually Skype: you can buy a monthly subscription to call towards mobile or landline numbers. I just checked and it would be 6.60/month for 800 minutes to call to India which seems a good price.
If you think you'll only call once in a while you'd be better off with PAYG though, and some mobile networks might actually be cheaper, I think mine (Giffgaff) only charges a few pence per minutes.

You haven't said whether your daughter has a UK or Indian mobile. Presuming that it's Indian then the advice already given seems good to me. If it's UK then she'd get charged a fair whack to receive the calls.
  • Thank you everyone - much apprecieated:beer:

She has met with an Indian school friend who has provided her with an Indian phone, but thanks for that top tip :)
