Hi all. i want to diy replace an old aluminium window with pvc ... and if sucessful maybe replace more.
I thought that the pvc frame just screwed into the blockwork at the side of the frame but looking at the current frame i am confused as to how to replace it.
i attach photos to show what i mean
any help would be great

Most PVC windows sit across the cavity , they are sometimes supplied with metal clips which are fixed to the UPVc and then screwed to the blockwork. If it's a cavity wall measure the smallest width and deduct 15mm for fitting, for your height allow 35mm for your sill, again allow 15mm for clearance.
Consult a Carpenter / joiner if unsure.0
