The above message has locked the screen, if you press "Ok" it just reappears, and stops you going into settings, (or anything else) for that matter, so all the usual google fixes Cannot be tried. Any ideas?

Perhaps you might have to do a factory reset:

Alternatively go and ask at XDA developers, that's were the real android experts reside as someone might have a solution to your problem without a FR :

As Tesco don't make Hudls, my kid's broke after 11 months and got a refund. Then I bought a Samsung.0

Did a complete factory re set, spent ages downloading my stuff again, worked for about an hour now the dam things back, exactly the same. Seems to be a Google problem, not a Hudl problem as it didnt happen again till I logged into Google Play store, you cant get any apps until you do this.0

Did you make sure it was up to the latest version of the firmware before using google play ?

If this fails then I reiterate my earlier advice of asking on the XDA developers forum as you will get far better expert knowledge and advice regarding android issues there than here:

Edit:
Looks here as there may have been ongoing playstore issues that the above firmware may have addressed as it's dated Updated 28/09/2016 12.11 PM. However I don't own a hudl2 so I can't confirm .

You have a tiny amount of time available to do something between pressing OK to dismiss the pop-up and then it appears again. This could take 30 or more goes. Even just scrolling down a list will take several.
Go to Settings (not Google Settings), then Apps. Find and select Google Play Services. Delete cache, and also delete all the application data, which may be after pressing Manage Space.
You might also try uninstalling updates for that app, then redownload them. I can't remember if that was also necessary or not.0
