Hi,
I am looking to get a new gas cooker fitted soon.
I am looking at using my usual gas safe engineer to come and fit it.
Couple of things I wnted to check:
1) DO they have to provide a certificate of installation?
2) Do they have to use a new gas hose when installing a new cooker?
Our current cooker is very old so id imagine so is the pipe.
Thanks

Are you fitting a freestanding cooker or built in? If it's built in you will need rigid pipe not a flexi hose. I believe, and I could be wrong, that if you are invoiced on paperwork with a gas safe registration number on this may suffice. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

I doubt you will get a cert
I always use a new hose
Kiran, you can use a hose on a hob unless the manu says it must be hard pipedI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
I stand corrected, thanks for the info. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

Check your fitter is qualified to fit just because he is gas reg doesn't necessarily mean he can gas safe Web site says what they are qualified to work on.
Yes you should get cert that confirms pressures meet what is in the cooker installation manual it can be combined with the invoice0
