Parking Ticket double yellow in Hospital after an emergency

Options
Hi i wonder if you could give me some advice,
i received a windscreen PCN from Gemini in May for parking on double yellows when i got a life or death phone call from the hospital. There was no spaces to park, so i parked not blocking anyone on double yellows, unfortunatley my friend passed away,
As it was a difficult time for us i didnt really bother with replying as it was the last thing on my mind, then each time a letter came through i kind of resented it and got really angry.
But i havent contacted anyone or done anything with POPLA or Gemini or DRP or Zenith.
I have received :
PCN,
Gemini reminder notice
DRP Demand for payment
Reduced DRP payment offer
Notice of intended court action from DRP
Zenith collections Notice of debt recovery
Zenith notice of intention to commence legal proceedings.
Now i know i should have dealt with this when it happened in hindsight, but im not sure what i should do next, I feel so annoyed that i got a stupid ticket when something so major was happening, i mean i wasnt just shopping or having a coffee , i was called to see my friend dying! It was in Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport.
Any advice would be great , thanks

First port of call would be PALS (find contact details on the hospital website).

They got mine wiped for me earlier this year.

    My condolences for your loss.

Zenith are just a debt collector and can't do anything, and aren't even worthy of acknowledgement. At this stage, talk to PALS at the hospital and get them to cancel the invoice (this might take a bit of arguing), or just ignore it until you get something from a solicitor or court, when you can defend it properly.

Don't forget also, that in Law those double yellow lines have no authority at all on private land.
They should be treat purely as 'decorations'.

Also, do Gemini have planning permission for their signs?. It is a criminal offence not too, so makes a good defence point.

Zenith is the same firm as DRP - different name, different letterhead, different desk, same building, same outfit. Look at the light grey print at the bottom right of the Zenith letter.

    Gemini are not litigious.

But do follow advice on getting PALS to intervene.

It's advertising consent, not planning permission that is needed for signs over 0.3m2. It is a criminal offence not to have advertising consent for such signs.

Planning permission is needed for cameras on poles etcetera but it is not a criminal offence if this has not been granted.
