Holes in patio door

We have a sliding patio door. The previous owners, by the looks of things, drilled holes for a second lock at the bottom of the door, then redrilled some more holes and put the lock there.
This means there are some holes where air is coming in from outside and probably the source of the few spiders we have in the room.
What can I plug or seal these with?
Can I just use silicone sealant? Or will that be too gloopy/messy?

Can't think of anything that would look *good*, but gaffer tape?0

If just small screw holes, silicone should be fine. or are they big holes?0

Two small ones (for screws) and one large one for the bolt to go through:

That's the sort of lock they fitted. It looks like they tried to fit it, for some reason it didn't work so they drilled a bit further along and tried again.0 -
Depends what there made of, the size of the whole the finish etc Painted timber , metal, UPVC etc car body filler, fiberglass repair kits, Acrylic, PVC and Multi Purpose Repair Kits, Epoxy Putty, wood filler can be smoothed, polished out sprayed etc0

Some sort of metal but with a white upvc look. They look like standard patio sliding doors without being fancy or special in any way.0

Assuming they put that lock on to stop the door being lifted off the slider, buy another one and fit it, it will fill the holes and perhaps add some security.....0
