Can I claim compensation of fees from the sellers ???

    Surely a survey wouldn't be that extensive anyway unless I went for the top end survey ?? And wouldn't they need to remove carpets and plasterboards etc to properly check ? We tried to buy a house before and had a home buyers survey and this didn't even check for dry rot.

    If you do not arrange a full survey and rely on just a homebuyers survey and the honesty of the seller then you open yourself up to this sort of risk.

    If the cost to transfer the warranty was only £200 why did you not just swallow that and complete the purchase?

    Not a great idea, without an independent surveyor looking at what's been done to check that it's to an acceptable standard.

    Firms that issue guarantees come and go.

    In answer to your question 'Can I claim fees from Sellers?' the answer is a big fat No.
    Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

    Should have got a building survey, may have found something, although alot of companies have caveats now a days
