People are you aware it is considered very highly to buy charity gifts?

Such a gift has a real purpose in that a good cause is assisted and furthermore this type of recycling cuts down on carbo emmissions, the rape of Earths dwindling resources and so is a sustainable activity..

Hi there I think you got the wrong end of my point. I think charity gifts are a great idea, and have used them myself for people who I like but who have everything (like most of the older relatives in my family). My point was that people who don't bother to go to an ice hockey game (an expensive statusy sort of present), would really kick up at being given a present that is, in effect just a card, telling you what someone else is going to get!

My point was whether the person I quoted would care about the opinion of her ungrateful recipients if she did this, and was not to imply that charity gifts were not worthy.

    hope this clarifies

  • i know i put to much thought into it my husband says, but the truth is i put lots of thought into it to save money, im sick of panic buying lots of cheapish bits at £40 to make them look like a fairly decent present. it always works out way more expensive, id really like to get them the charity gifts and perhaps something for the family - ohh idea, il go for the hamper and fill it with board games i think and family dvds. yeah thank you all for your help, going now to write my list
