Anybody else totally dreading Christmas present buying?

I am. I will have just no spare money for it whatsoever. I am going to have to use my Boots points to buy some presents as it is.

Have to say that is a very depressing thought :(

do free gifts theres lots of ideas on the internet like coupons for things you will do for a person ( can be printed off a computer)

start a new tradition of a family night at your with foos etc and thats your gift to everyone the whole family being together again and having a fun time laughter and games etc etc

otherwise ignore its coming and pretend it doesnt exsist andthen you will no longer worry

always remember its the thought and effort not the cost of a gift thats important

Must admit i have also got most of my crimbo presents. Brought them in January at Boots where everthing was reduced to silly prices.Mostly Smellys but it's a start.

Roll on the 30th November because that is when i festoon my house with lights. Was told last year my house would cause an accident as it was so brightly lit :rotfl:

Really only buying DD's 1 big present and then ( If you are not proud) buying from boot fairs. Picked up a nearly new Kareoke (Spelling) machine today for £10 with discs and everthing. Spent loads last year on New stuff and most of it is not used. Plan to budget from Jan 08 for xmas and put a certain amount away each month.

I have been saving with work all year and so far have £710.00 saved. I will get in November and I am hoping to have really low spending so any extra can go straight off the debts. This is the first year I have ever saved for christmas and not had to rely on credit. x

  • There are lots of cheap ways to get good christmas presents. Go to a car boot sale. Go to a pound shop and have a look - they often have quite good stuff. Don't despair, you can definitely get some good stuff :-)

Do you have any other points cards? Nectar? WHSmith? Make best use of the Boots 3 for 2 offers when spending your points.

What about keeping an eye on the freebies board? Making things? Is there anything you could sell on ebay to make a bit of cash? A temp job before Christmas?

There are 14 weeks to go, could you put away a wee bit each week until then?

Could you cut back on who you have to buy for? Spend less?

Don't think of it is impossible, see it as a challenge to get good bargains and do well.
