P4 Parking Fine in Scotland

Just to explain 'fake PCN' was a term we used for years to describe any private 'ticket' (basically to differentiate between one of them and a 'real' penalty charge from a Council.
It's less used now as people don't always understand what it means and it's not helpful as a term. If I remember, I might well edit that phrase when I next edit the NEWBIES thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Realistically, even if you did name the driver, the PPC isn't going to take you to court in Scotland. Any time the industry has tried it they've dropped it shortly before court.
The only time a parking company will see a court in Scotland is when they get dragged there on fraud charges.
There was one case, where the defendant agreed to pay before it started, but he was apparently caught on CCTV throwing away dozens of tickets, and his statement to the press right afterwards read like it came directly from the parking company. No further details were ever provided, so we strongly suspect it was a set up.
Ignore anything else that comes from them unless it's actually an invite to court, at which point we'll help you defend (it hasn't happened yet so we'd all be starting from scratch). Don't bother acknowledging any of it or they'll just send you more recycling.0 -
