O/S Daily Wednesday 28 September 2016
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH up and gone to work stupid early. DS1 up and getting ready to go to work, DS2 still in his pit, but will wake him shortly to get ready for college.
Now getting light, dry underfoot, but air is much cooler again this morning, and last week felt cooler too. DS2 was wandering around the house in shorts and t-shirt declaring he was cold, short answer from me, put some jeans and jumper on then ...... heating definitely not going on just yet unless it plunges too much colder temperatures! Washing ready to go out on the line shortly.
Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg, tonight will be gammon, egg, chips/jacket potato, veg - I'd prefer not to serve chips again tonight but menfolk want chips with their gammon. I'll be having a jacket potato with mine.
Work yesterday was rather quiet, but just as well really as we were without the main part of our computer system, the part that we use all the time, we didn't even have a view only capacity - so we now have to hope it's working properly again today, as it becomes much more of a problem as the work starts backing up. Working all day today as doing the extra hours this afternoon.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Seems cooler this morning, it may be the wind that's making if feel cold. Dry at the moment but due to rain later (there's a surprise!).
DD came for tea and to collect her curtains and a parcel in her bf's brand new car, she had dropped him at the airport so she's 'looking after it'.
DW emptied, that's about it this morning but did pack up my sewing machine last night, it is being collected from work to be taken back to the manufacturers for repair. Hope they don't take too long with it.
Have a happy Wednesday, take care. XX0 -
Morning all
Just off to bed here, I've been up with a bad stomach and have a fasting blood test at 9, so I'm going to try and catch up with some sleep.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone.
It's fairly foggy outside with rain. I think that the pattern is set for winter now.
Yesterday began dry and then got worse. I drove up the windy potholed track to visit friends who live right at the top of the estate. I really enjoyed just sitting and chewing the fat for a while.
Today I've having a hair cut and then going to Tarbert to pick up a woman and take her to visit her seriously ill husband in Paisley. Not our usual kind of trip but it's good to do.
Camelot - hope the repair doesn't take too long!
Now I need to get up. I hope everyone enjoys their day.0 -
Internet ate my post again, can't write it all again, so will send best wishes to all.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Morning all,
Just emptied the lounge ready for the log burner men coming :j I am almost beside myself with excitement, I am not sure if they will do it all today but if so I am going to be lighting it tonight even if its boiling hot outside
Off to work for me and not going to mums tonight as we will need to 'rebuild' the lounge and get it all back to normal.
Something with chicken for dinner I might do Summer in winter chicken as its very quick and easy.

I am going back to my knitting club this morning - first time since July. Just getting my bag ready. Very tired as I was up coughing at 4am grrrrr. Church this afternoon then taking DS2 into town for a haircut and to get DD something from him for her birthday on Saturday. Also running youth club tonight. I predict an early night!
Not sure about dinner - may let DH get on with it seeing as I have a busy day ahead, will make sure he's up before I leave at 8.30am.

Been awol since Friday as been busy as hell. Tattoo convention sat with a mate which was good and well needed break. Sunday had DD1 and DGD round for the day . Monday was catching up on housework. Yesterday walked far too much in morning and planned to rest in afternoon but DD1 and DGD came round again. She is having a hard time emotionally at the mo so needs lots of support.
Get to see doc today and find out if he will let me go back to work or not. If he says no I am going to push and see if he will let me go in part time and rest in the afternoons
FIL has been in a diabetic coma and now they have realised it he seems to be improving slowly but Tbh we don't hold out much hope. He has everything against him.
DW emptied and WM is on for first load.
Gonna try and take it as easy as I can as I want blood pressure to be lower.
Anyhoo better move myself.
Hugs to all in need xxBright Blessings xx0 -
Morning everyone,
Dry, bright and cold here, we have ordered some oil to be delivered this week but will hold off putting the heating on for as long as possible. We are due a warm, breezy day so the WM will be going full pelt, have some of Mum's washing from home to do.
The palliative care team turned up when we were visiting DM yesterday, basically it would be quicker to get a full time care package in place than having someone comes in three times a day but that raises the whole problem of Mum not wanting someone there all the time. She is thinking about it overnight and then will see where we are today. On the positive side she was in good spirits and enjoyed a visit from her eldest DGD.
Feel better soon Hester.
Have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -
Good Morning all, another bright day by the looks of it and fairly warm as well.Today being the last Wednesday of the month its U3A sociology class which I always enjoy. We are discussing crime, and its differing reasons this morning ,should be interesting and lively,e.g. murder for gain or protection is it still murder irrespective. Is a muder for moentary gain more evil than someone protecting their child or self ? a moral dilemma indeed
or is taking a life equally wrong no matter what. Should be a lively discourse if nothing else.
Hope you all have a good day ,almost October and yet the weather is still holding up well(at least in the Garden of England it is
Take care all

Good morning everyone
I'm up, showered and dressed ready for the day ahead. It's quite bright out and forecast to stay dry but we will see. Hubby has gone off to work and the girls have left for school with very little moaning.
My plans today are to catch up on the never ending washing, make a cottage pie with mashed cauliflower for the topping for me and macaroni cheese with bacon and tomato for the family. I wanted to make some low carb cheese muffins but cannot find any muffin cases so I have abandoned that idea for now. I may make some flax seed bread if I can find the right tin.
I'm not expecting any visitors today so will just be pottering around. I am trying to be a bit more active so will be looking for 'walking videos' on YouTube.
I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0
