Should Sky have informed me my deals had ended?

Just checked my payment due on my Sky account and going to cost me an extra £30 per month as it appears my deals have run out.
Bearing in mind these deals were made probably a year ago, should sky have informed me that my deals were about to run out forcing my bill up or is it all part of the game where they hope I had forgotten.....

Cheers

Am I missing something or have you just answered your own question?

    no, you've missed my point.
I usually check my account around this time each month and I was surprised to find such a leap in cost.
I was just wondering if there should have been some kind of communication to inform me that my deals had/ were about to end?

yes... and you found it in your Sky Account (!)

Were you expecting them to email you or ring you as well?

Did they not tell you how long your offer was to last?

Yes, it's called customer service! Then again I guess this is Sky we are talking about....

Remind me to check my account each day as you must surely know a figure just pops up only when the bill is ready

    Thanks anyway

Sky have never emailed me to tell me how much the next month's bill will be. That's what "Your upcoming subscription costs" at https://myaccount.sky.com/future is for.

All it takes is to make a note in your diary once a year when your offer finishes. Then you will know when and for how much your bills will be for. The best customer service when it comes to Sky is your own!

When you signed up for the deal did Sky imply it would run continually or did you know it was a one year offer ?

Seem to remember vaguely being told it was a years deal. A year ago.
Ah well at least it's prompted me to seek out a cheaper deal:beer:

ALL the ISPs are the same -it's YOUR responsibility to know when your own discounted deal is ending!!
Not sure whether you can get the best deals thru USwitch -suppose it depends exactly what services you have with Sky. I only have TV -the best deals are by cancelling when out of minimum term.

Yes of course they, as a business who want to maximise profit, will call you as soon as your discounted services revert to full price so you can negotiate a better deal...

FWIW I usually pop mine on the calender when I take any new deals so I know when its running out...
