Hi,
I have been working for a company for 15 months.
I was called something derogatory that I would border on being criminal. I was a manager and was called this in front of about 5 of my staff with no foundation. I made a complaint to my boss that I wasn't happy what they had said. They apologised but since that time we haven't really got on that well until the time I thought I'd had enough and gave my notice in with immediate effect.
Now shall I just forget about this or do I have any rights?
Thanks in advance.
John

Maybe a criminal prosecution, but I doubt you have a constructive dismissal case. It depends I suppose in part to what was saidHi,

Why didn't you deal with the individual at the time?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Yes I know i should have.
My manager would have had this in the back of there mind knowing I could have raised a grievance at any time. I think this is why they made my life slightly more difficult day by day.0 -
15 months in you probably would've been sacked0

Best bet is probably a quick letter, if not go to the papers, and then move on0

I'm sure none of us like being called anything derogatory, but i don't think many would walk away from a decent job. Water-off-a-ducks-back, is the way to go.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Unless you're a sensitive soul, i wouldn't advise you leave a job based on an insult and what colleagues (who are not even friends) say.
You've kinda self-inflicted the second blow there0
