Very Catalogue account

I have recently paid up a Very catalogue account and requested that the account be closed. The admin team at Very have advised that the account is now closed but the credit limit (£2100) remains although they also add that i will no longer be able to order anything, which is fine in my opinion (although it is a little confusing that it remains visible) However, i am unsure what effect this will have on my credit score. Should i request that this account is closed completely and the credit limit removed entirely. Is it better to have unused credit as I had almost always paid the bills on time. How does this affect my credit score? Info I have seen online suggests that high interest catalogue accounts are bad to be seen credit scores. Any advice or information anyone can offer would be appreciated.

Comments

  • If the account is closed, then the balance will be disregarded by lenders.

Ignore your credit score as it has no meaning. Account management and credit history are what matters.
