Hastings Direct Scam

If someone said my car was involved in an accident, and I knew it wasn't, I'd be sending them all the photos I can, and telling them to inspect my vehicle to get it closed off.
Your insurers can dispute the claim that has come in.
Have they said who the solicitors are? I know some of them don't discuss matters via the phone, and will then ignore emails as well.0 -

they could also satisfy themselves it wasn't the OP and stop overcharging him....0 -
I could send them pics of every angle of my car, but it has been 10 months since this accident was supposed to have happened, that would have given me plenty of time to get it repaired.
I have written to them to complain officially about the handling of this claim. They can either refund the overpayments they have made or I am cancelling the policy. I can't afford to carry on like this, and I shouldn't have to.0 -
Make a complaint in writing. Make it clear if they fail to remove the false claim and return your premium to the original price and refund the overpayment you will forward your complaint to the insurance ombudsman.0

A simple check is to ask the colour of your vehicle, as someone savvy enough to take down a registration would have noticed the colour, even if they don't recognize bands or specific car models.
My husband had claim made against him; impossible, as at the time ,the car was parked at work while he was doing deliveries in an HGV.
This turned out to be an error on the part of the claimant's insurers, as one letter had been mistyped and the vehicle involved was nothing like a bright yellow Punto.0 -
I would ask them the colour of the car involved, but they don't reply to letters, emails or telephone calls. The whole thing is a JOKE.0

Did Hasting not contact you in January asking you why you hadn't informed them about "the incident" in Glasgow?
My insurance got on to me very quickly when someone claimed I was involve in an incident in Doncaster.( somewhere where I had never been to let alone driven through.)0 -
The whole thing is very odd.
So it's not another car making a claim, but someone who would have been claiming to be with you? Surely if they were a passenger in your car, they would have been able to say who was driving? Then my payments went UP to £202.51 because the claim had been changed from a partial claim to a full claim (the passenger in my car was claiming whiplash)
So the scam would be that two cars pretended to be in an accident, with one of the scammer claiming to be in your car, and the other scammers in the other car? Surely it shouldn't be too hard for Hastings Direct to evidence that the the person claiming for whiplash wasn't genuine?0
