This might help someone
Today, Win 10 did another major set of updates and at the end, I could not copy links in Edge browser address field, the mouse stopped working, typing in webforms had to be done extremely slowly if at all and when it did work the characters were jumbled on the page and the hard drive never stopped spinning.
My solution - this is what worked for me and fixed all problems (had to use the tab and arrow keys as well as the winkey to get at anything)
1. Flush the DNS cache - http://www.wikihow.com/Flush-DNS
2. Go to System and uninstall the mouse - remove it from the system.
3. While in System set the page or swap file to a maximum of 1.5 times whatever your system memory is - for example if your system memory is 4gig set the swap file to 6gig max - do this AFTER step 2
4. Now do a system restart
System will now reinstall the mouse and everything should now be working fine - at least it now is for me.

Good grief! What odd behaviour! How did you figure out it was related to swap memory -- just lots of web searching?0

Hi, esuhl - did a search for constant disk access or something similar on an android phone - could not use main machine because of problems.
2nd link which came up pointed me in right direction - SHOULD HAVE SAved it!!!!!
Also, should have added that it was necessary to start machine in SAFE MODE in order to carry out above steps.
The main problem doing the fix was using keyboard keys to navigate - not done that for a looooong time now.0 -
