Legal Cover on both Home & Motor? Is it really necessary on both?

Is it necessary to have legal protection on both home insurance as well as motor insurance or does the cover provided by the home insurance largely cover motor related legal claims? Are there any significant gaps to be aware of? Any enlightenment would be gratefully received!

Thanks.

    Yes and No.

Yes because home will not cover motor and motor will not cover home.

But if you dont want it then you dont have to buy it. Or get it cheaper elsewhere.

My home legal cover covers me for employment disputes, clinical negligence and things like that.

Motor legal cover only really helps if you've been involved in an accident and need to claim of injury etc from a third party insurer (otherwise you'll have to go to a solicitor firm who will then likely take a cut of your compensation).

The products are designed not to overlap, so home legal cover will not gently cover claims arising from use of a motor vehicle.

    What insurer are you using?
