sticky residue on vinyl

i have taken up the carpet tiles in the hall which had been stuck down onto the vinyl with double sided tape, got the tape off but am left with sticky bits now, any ideas how to best wipe them off

*Edit* Try any of the Citrus based cleaners and a scotch pad *

WD40 is worth a try - it removes sticky labels.

Go to Halfords and buy some Auto Glym Tar Remover - should do the job.
