PCN windscreen ticket

Hello lovely parking experts,

I have been an avid reader of this forum in the past few months, but haven't come across this precise situation before: I found a private ticket on my windscreen a couple of weeks ago and today started to construct my appeal (on day 25 as advised) and I've found that they've spelt my registration wrong on the ticket. In which case, do I need to bother to do anything? Will they be able to send me a registered keeper letter if they've got this wrong?

Thanks!

Hi, who is the PPC ?

There are different thoughts on this, one is that they actually know your real VRN and they want you to phone them whereby they will try with pressure to find out who was driving

It depends on the PPC and which system they belong to as the advice given

    Good question.

In your shoes I would wait for the first letter before appealing. Some are cancelled when there is a VRN error (in fact ALL should be cancelled if there was a VRN error in the PCN). But plenty of firms push it and try to 're-issue' by post which is a pile of rubbish and can be appealed/challenged at the point of the keeper receiving the first letter.

The only reason not to wait would be if this is not your car (lease/hire/company vehicle) because lease firms are notoriously USELESS at handling private parking drivel properly and often just pay the thing.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
